Monkey Dust is a new synthetic drug that is quickly becoming popular in online chat forums and on the street. While it is not yet known how dangerous this drug is, it is important that you be aware of what it is and what it does. inevitably, some of you will be coming across it. 

Police in Staffordshire, UK say they have dealt with 950 cases of monkey dust in the past three months. On average, they are dealing with 10 cases per day. Buzzfeed published an article about this topic earlier this year and reported on an Australian case in which a woman used monkey dust and ended up licking the dance floor so feverishly her tongue bled. Some users of the drug have reported running into traffic, injuring themselves, and jumping off buildings.

What is Monkey Dust?

MDPHP is a synthetic stimulant that goes by the street name monkey dust. It is a stimulant of the cathinone class that is known to be dangerous and addictive. It was originally constructed in the 1960’s until someone pulled the old research into this drug and started manufacturing it. Usually, it is Chinese chemists that manufacture it and ship it to the US and European countries. Monkey Dust is similar to MDPV and is becoming popular in countries where MDPV is being banned. 

What are the Effects of Monkey Dust?

Monkey Dust has effects that are similar to those of cocaine and methamphetamine (CNS Stimulants to our DRE and DAR trained readers). It can cause a euphoric high, increased energy, and a decreased appetite. Users may have dilated pupils that are slow to react to light, fast pulse, sweating with hyperactivity.
